Have to say that Hamburg never lets us own...many many cheers go out to everyone at molotow for the amazing treatment and gig. The streets of Hamburg were filled with an abundance of riot police, as their sort of mayor (pardon my ignorance on his exact position) Schill was outed from his position in office. There was suspicion that there would be riots and parties in the streets celebrating the fall of someone whom nobody had anything nice to say about, but to my knowledge nothing too mad went down. We wondered around town to a nearby fair, which was quite entertaining. I don't know why, but it is hilarious to hear the ride commentators in german with the crazy reverb effects on words like super super (sounds like zoo puh zoo puh). One thing Hamburg has going against it is noise...seriously, I can't remember a time when we didn't have construction or bad euro trash disco blaring all throughout the night and morning. Mates of State (a great 2 piece from CT) have been supporting the last few gigs, so it is nice to share the stage with very nice people and a great band as well. Tonight in Munster will be the last night with them, so I'm sure there will be a nice party. Gleis 22 is quite possibly our favorite venue in Deutschland at lamonita coop!!! Seriously, the food here is amazing! More perhaps on my birthday this friday in fulda....
19.08.07 Hamburg, Deutschland 19h45Are we in England? It has been mild and drizzling all day here in Hamburg. The club is amazing, and so is the hospitality. We are all getting ready to walk around, despite the slightly cold and rainy weather. The last two days were spent in Halle, and were very nice. The club in Halle was called Tanz (dance for the deutsch sprechen impaired) Bar, and for very good reason, as everyone was out to shake it that night looking for milf seekers and couples that seduce teens. Seriously, if this would have been in America, I would immediately assume irony or perhaps opiates being pushed thru the vents. Last night, we had no gig, so we spent the evening walking around the small zentrum of Halle and downing a few pints of pilsener. The conversations we had with our new friends in Halle were quite intelligent, so it was a nice change of pace than just talking about bands and records. I have only two minutes left on this dot com access, so until next time...tsch's.
